Food safety trainings
came into existence in the late 1950s, being firstly invented by a US based
food processing company in association with NASA during the space program.
The target was to create quality in food products that would
ensure safety and health of consumers by controlling and monitoring food born
illnesses.
The training was proposed to Food and Drugs Authority and
National Health Association in a Food scientific conference in 1970, after
which the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point -HACCP and its 7/5 principles
came into place to oversea organization, preparation, monitoring and
presentation of food and food substances from the farm, to storage, to the
kitchen, to the table of the final consumer so as to ensure cleanliness and
observation of safety procedures.
The Gap In Tanzania
and The Focus: Currently, The Government of Tanzania through its relevant
authorities do an outstanding work in ensuring safety and damage control
resulted from food and drugs in the country. But nevertheless, it is not
compulsory for food and drugs services organizations to have trained and
certified personnel in implementation and observation of the HACCP plan and ita
benefits.
Thus, our focus is to import into the country the idea and technology
of Food Safety training and the HACCP plan and its benefits so as to allow the
government and the services providers to have a global standard of
administration for food and drugs related products.
The Economic Impact:
This training shall
result into numerous direct and indirect economic impact to both public and
private sectors as following. It shall bring the global standard for hotels and
caterers in terms of food service provision and administration and hence build,
strengthen, and maintain goodwill and trustworthy in clients.
Most importantly,
it shall increase government taxes both from businesses and from employees
through creation of new job opportunities and opportunities in training and
food safety technology. Conclusion:
The training shall be
held at Hyatt Regency- The Kilimanjaro Hotel on the 16th of July 2019 from 8am
to 5pm and it shall be instructed and supervised by Certified food safety
experts by The US National Restaurants Association, Food And Drug
Administration. The participation fee is TZS 230,000.00 (Inclusive of All
