TANZANIANS TO WIN WORLD CUP TRIP THROUGH CASTLE LAGER


Tanzania Breweries Limited (TBL), through its band, Castle Lager, has launched a special soccer tournament ‘Castle Lager Africa 5s’  that will see the overall Africa winner get a chance to go to Russia to watch world cup together with two (2) fans and a football legend from the country.

The tournament with international status, will bring together five (5) friends to form a team and represent Tanzania in a 5 A side League with other 5 countries in Zambia. The matches will be played for seven (7) minutes before the winner is announced.
Other five (5) nations from Africa to participate in Zambia championship will include South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Swaziland and Lesotho.

Ivo Mapunda is the Football Legend and former National team, ‘Taifa Stars’ who will be escorting  Tanzanian team to Zambia including two fans that will be selected through a special campaign.
The process of getting participating teams will be conducted from different bars in Dar es Salaam during the activations, Castle Lager Brand Manager, Pamela Kikuli told journalists in Dar es Salaam.
“Procedures to get participating teams will include fans direct from particular bars during a special visit of our representatives. Fans from particular bar will have opportunity to suggest their teams. Then after, we will have another stage whereby fans will have to vote for one participant team. Customers will get instructions from our representatives from different allocated venues. One of the criteria for one to participate is to buy Castle Lager,” said Kikuli.
Giving more clarifications concerning the tournament at large, the Marketing, Sponsorship and Customers Promotion Manager, George  Kavishe said, the competition would involve 160 bars, to be divided in 10 groups. Each with 16 bars.
Every group will have its own ground to conduct preliminary bonanzas of 16 teams to get 8. All Dar es Salaam districts will have to take part in the competition. This include Kinondoni, Ilala, Temeke, Ubungo and  Kigamboni. Preliminaries bonanzas will start 17th to 21st March, from there, ten teams bonanza will be held  21st April, before the final done on April 28, 2018.
“In the second stage of bonanza we will get one team from those 10 groups from preliminary, to get a total of  10 teams that will take part in the grand bonanza at the Leaders Club in Dar es Salaam. We will get five teams to play in a league format before the winner is announced,” said Kavishe.
Generally, the competition is running for two months consecutively. Age limit is between 24 t0 34. The aim of this tournament is to bring together soccer and friends fans. Players who are participating various soccer leagues are not allowed to take part in this tournament, even if their ages are suitable.
